Teachers' Day in China (September 10) On January 21, 1985, the ninth Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Sixth National People's Congress made a resolution to celebrate Teachers' Day on September 10 every year in China.

Respecting teachers and valuing education is a fine Tradition in China. As early as the Western Zhou Dynasty in the 11th century BC, it was proposed that "students should respect their teachers, the same as their father". Confucius, the great ancient educator, even left a series of wise dicts, such as "teaching without distinction", "reviewing the old and learning the new", "learning while learning" and so on.

Teachers who impart knowledge and solve puzzles are hailed by the Chinese as engineers of the human soul.  In fact, as early as 1932, the Government of the Republic of China had stipulated June 6 as Teachers' Day. After liberation, the Teachers' Day on June 6 was abolished and "May 1 International Labor Day" was used as Teachers' Day.

However, there was no separate activity on Teachers' Day and no characteristics.  Teachers' Day is set on September 10 in consideration of the start of the new school year in colleges, middle schools and primary schools across the country.

At the beginning of the new school, namely respect teachers and education, can give "teachers teach well, students learn well" to create a good atmosphere.

On September 10, 1985, the first Teachers' Day was restored in China. Since then, teachers have had their own festivals.

These is also an old saying in China which is “Once a teacher for a father for a lifetime “Which means the teachers is really very important for us.
